Stars Sport is a quiet instrument. It watches sleep and planned training the way a night sky is watched: from a working distance, without pretending to own the view. This page is not a maze of checkboxes. It is the record of that distance.
What this app is not
It is not a social graph. Users do not send files, profiles, or recovery cards to one another. There is no public feed of nights, no inbox between athletes, and no reason for the developer to build a warehouse of names, addresses, or medical files. Tom Roll does not collect personal data as a product. The most the system keeps for operations is a unique identifier used so tracking and push delivery can tell one installation from another — a catalog number, not a biography.
What stays on the device first
Bedtime, wake time, sleep duration, and accumulated sleep debt are calculated locally before any analysis request leaves the phone. Your recovery profile — sport, level, goal, preferred sleep, age group — lives with the app so the coach does not have to re-interview you. Journal cards you save are yours to reopen. Nothing in that loop requires you to hand over a passport, a contact list, or a photograph of anyone else.
The AI message, and only the message
When Stars Sport asks for a generated recovery reading, it uses OpenAI as a third-party service. The payload is the text of the prompt assembled from what you typed or selected for that day’s analysis — the in-app message, not a dossier. You do not attach a legal name, email, phone number, or government ID to that request. The model is there to write the readiness card, not to learn who you are. If you never tap generate, that third-party path is simply not used.
Other third-party services
The app also leans on infrastructure that is not owned by the developer. Each of the following is a third-party service, with its own rules, which you should read if you want the fine print behind the night sky:
- Firebase — used as backend and operational fabric (things like app infrastructure, remote configuration, or similar Google-hosted plumbing). It is not an invitation to ship your life story into a private archive.
- Singular — used for measurement and attribution so installs and campaigns can be understood as signals, not as a personality profile.
- OneSignal — used for push notifications, so the bedtime reminder or a recovery nudge can find the correct device.
Those vendors may process a device-level unique ID, push token, or similar technical identifier. That is the ceiling of identity this product is designed around: enough to deliver a notification or count an install, not enough to sketch a private life.
What we do not do
We do not sell lists of sleepers. We do not let users trade recovery data with each other. We do not scrape your other apps for health records. We do not ask the AI for anything beyond the text required to produce that day’s card. If a future version ever needs more, this ledger will be rewritten in the open — not hidden in a changelog.
Children
Stars Sport is meant for people who can decide their own training load. It is not directed at children, and it is not a toy that should be filled with a minor’s nights.
